Welcome to STAMPtember! The most wonderful time of year in our crafting community! As a thank you for visiting my blog, I have a special code for you to get a free gift from Simon Says Stamp! Be sure to visit the other bloggers in this party because all codes are not the same (wink wink)!
Today, I have for you two cards: feminine and masculine using the Birthday Numbers stamp set from Simon Says Stamp (SSS).
To make this masculine card, I took a 6 1/2″ by 7″ piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and scored it at 3 1/4″. Using the Brushstroke Messages from SSS, I stamped the background in “ombre” order using Distress Oxide in: Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Peacock Feathers, and Mermaid Lagoon.
After the Oxides dried, I used my anti-static powder and covered the cardstock to stamp the images with SSS Clear Embossing Ink. Then, I heat embossed with Hero Arts embossing powder in Platinum. I mixed some Perfect Pearls with water and used a brush to flick some onto the cardstock. I felt this gave it a little something with out being too “flashy”.
I stamped the small sentiment “Let’s Celebrate” SSS clear ink on SSS Peacock cardstock and embossed with Hero Arts Platinum powder. I cut the sentiment and adhered it with a small amount of foam tape. Almost a one layer card!
This card was actually featured on Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Facebook Live yesterday! There are a lot of elements on here… Embroidery, embossing, and Foiling.
I first took a 5″ by 5″ of Canson XL watercolor paper and “ink smooshed” Distress Oxide inks in an “ombre”/layer cake shape in Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves. I added a little water to some gold Perfect Pearls and splattered it onto the panel. I stamped the star images with SSS Barely Beige ink so I could see where I was going to stitch on the card with some pretty pink pearl cotton thread. To adhere the Minc Hot Pink foil, I just used a little double sided tape.
I stamped and embossed the numbers onto SSS Cotton Candy cardstock with SSS embossing ink and Hero Arts Gold embossing powder. I attached white fun foam to the numbers and fussy cut. I adhered these to the panel using Tombow Multi Mono liquid adhesive. The “Celebrating You” sentiment was gold heat embossed onto SSS Cotton Candy Pink cardstock with a small stitch and Tombow liquid adhesive. To add some finishing touches to the panel, I added sequins from Pretty Pink Posh “Enchanted Garden” and Neat & Tangle “Pink Lemonade” with Ranger Muti-Medium Matte. You can barely see it in the picture but there is also sparkle on the numbers from my Nuvo Aqua Simmer Pen.
The whole panel was adhered to a 5 1/4 by 10 1/4 (scored at 5 1/8) SSS Smoke cardstock. Finishing off the inside is “happy birthday” with a yummy cupcake stamped with Distress Oxide.
