Happy Diecember! Inspiration Card With “Ice Skating Girl”

Happy Diecember everyone! This is Simon Says Stamp (SSS) newest release for December and its all about dies! I had the pleasure of working with “Ice Skating Girl”. Here is the first of 3 cards that I have for some inspiration.

I starting by die cutting the Ice Skating girl 4 times out of white cardstock. I glued each piece together with liquid glue. While it was drying, I started working on my background panel. I used Happy Plaids by Concord & 9th and Distress Oxides in: Victorian VelvetTea Dye, Pumice Stone. I used my stamp platform to make sure the stripes were straight and I could also stamp repeatedly if needed.

After making sure my background was dry, I  heat embossed the sentiment from the Snowflake Turnabout set with platinum powder. After deciding where I wanted my skater girl to be positioned, I heat embossed the small snowflakes from the turnabout set in white powder.

I cut 4 frames using rectangle dies from heavy weight white cardstock and stacked them together using liquid glue to adhere them. The frame was added to the plaid panel that was die cut using the largest of SSS rectangle dies. I also adhered the skater girl with liquid glue in her position holding the snowflake. The whole panel was added to an A2 card base of Desert Storm cardstock.
