Sending You Love

Welcome back everyone! Today, I wanted to send you all a little love… I really do love a simple card but I feel like I struggle to make them. I also feel like I struggle with watercolors, so I decided to put both into a card. I hope you enjoy it!

I started by stamping the Pure Innocence “I Heart You” (this is a retired stamp but this stamp is very similar) in black ink. I paper pieced her skirt and shirt by first stamping on scrap paper and fussy cutting the images out. I then used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color the image and added shadows to the paper pieces. I cut the image using the coordinating die.

Using a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 piece of water color paper, I used my pan set to watercolor a very loose rainbow background. My intent was for the rainbow to look like it was coming out of the card. I also needed to make sure that my girl had something to stand on and not be floating in space, so I added a little ground for her to stand on. Using my stamping platform, I stamped the sentiment in black ink twice.

For and added extra touch and sparkle, I used some heart confetti that I had in my stash. I actually only had two different colors but because of the iridescent nature of them, they take on the other background colors nicely. I added the panel to an A2 size white card base using liquid glue. I did this before adhering the girl so I could ensure that my watercolor panel would lay flat on my card base. I just put a few acrylic blocks on top for a few minutes. I then added my girl using foam squares.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
