One Layer Card Featuring The “Mesh” Stencil From Simon Says Stamp

Hello everyone! I’m glad you have joined me today. I’m currently in the process of moving so I am sorry that I have been sporadic with my posts. I do have a very easy one layer card for you today! This features the new “Mesh” stencil from Simon Says Stamp (SSS) newest release Blossoms and Butterflies. It is a beautiful release. If you haven’t checked it out yet… you should!

I used a pre-scored notecard in “Smoke”  by SSS and secured it to my glass mat with painters tape. I added the Mesh stencil on top and ink blended Distress Oxide in “Hickory Smoke” to the front of the card.

I used the SSS “Everything Together” stamp set to stamp the flowers and leaves in white pigment ink. When the pigment ink was dry, I colored the flowers and leaves using my Prismacolor pencils. I did this to ensure that I would have nice and bright florals without the stencil image sneaking through. This way, I didn’t have to worry about masking anything! Most of my coloring was done with 2 or 3 pencils in each color family since I only have a small set of pencils. I smoothed out my coloring with a Prismacolor Colorless Blender Pen. This really helped in blend all of my coloring.

Using my stamp platform and a generous amount of anti-static powder, I stamped the sentiment on top of my coloring with Versamark clear ink. I applied my favorite Sterling  embossing powder and heat set. To make is stand out from the background (since everything was looking a little monotone), I added a bit of a drop shadow using a Micron  pen. For a final touch, I added some gems and small butterfly accents from my stash.

As I said in the beginning of this post, we are in the middle of moving. Well… preparing to move anyway. We decided to buy a house and we are relocating about 15 minutes away from our current rental. It’s super exciting and stressful at the same time. I am packing up my craft supplies last so I can still create for as long as possible! The good news is that I should have a nice and bright craft room that I can make my own at our new house. I just want to thank you all for your support through this process by visiting my blog. Have a great day everyone!
