We Are All Mermaids…

Welcome everyone! I am back from my little seaside vacation and I thought a mermaid card was just the right post for my return. I simply love how this card turned out. It actually started with a little mishap with my alcohol pearl inks. As you can see below, I had no cap on my blue Tranquil color (boo) resulting in a mess. But, I made the most of it and the result is this card! Yay!

I did start with and A2 size panel of Simon Says Stamp (SSS) Yupo Paper and added additional colors of Pearl Inks in Intrigue and Sublime.

I stamped out images from SSS Beautiful Mermaids stamp set with detail black ink. I then used my Copic markers in the colors: YR21, E31, R02 (skin), BG09, BG05, BG13 (hair), BG13, BG15, BG11 (tail), BV00, BV01, BV04 (tail), RV11, RV25, RV29 (shell bra/pearls), R08, R05 (starfish), G28, G17, G12 (seaweed), E29, E35, E31, C1, C3, and C5 (chest). I also used Altenew Artist Markers for the shells. These colors were: B802, B714, B815, R437, R614, R603 and R601. All images were fussy cut (it wasn’t that bad really and it doesn’t bother me).

I added some white pen detail and just a bit of sparkle to her hair using a shimmer pen for that extra touch. I also added a bit of texture to the treasure by adding SSS Treasure Chest sequins. A small amount of Hero Arts Sand embossing powder (it looks soooo real) was added to ground my chest image…I couldn’t have it floating in the water. The sentiment was stamped with black archival ink and all images were adhered with liquid glue or foam tape for dimension. And a mermaid probably has to breathe right? The bubbles were added using Glitter Drops in Aquatic Mist. The finished panel was added to an A2 size white heavy weight cardstock with liquid glue.

I finished the inside of the card with a sentiment from the mermaid set stamped in Mermaid Lagoon (fitting right?!). And we can’t forget about the matching envelope stamped with black ink with just a bit of white detail.

I hope you enjoyed this Mer-ific mermaid card today! Until next time my friends!
