Hello everyone! Thank you so much for joining me today. I know I’m a few days late for the first day of spring but I’m here today with a fun pair of cards using my most favorite flower…the Tulip.
I started with 2 panels of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock (it really is one of the best I’ve found for dye ink stamping. It makes a big difference) cut to an A2 size. I used Altenew Tulip stamps for the flowers in the foreground. I used Altenew ink colors in: Grass Field, Shadow Creek, Fresh Lemon, Maple Yellow, Coral Berry, Ruby Red, Wisteria and Hydrangea. I then cut masks using the dies to create the background flowers. These flowers were stamped in Altenew: Grass Field, Shadow Creek, Ruby Red, Espresso, Orange Cream, Autumn Blaze, Rubellite, and Razzleberry. Finally, I stamped the outlines slightly off center with Altenew Jet Black to give it that whimsical feel and added some splatter because you can’t go wrong with spatter!
For the first panel, I decided to make it into a pretty shaker card. I cut the frame using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle dies four times from white cardstock. I adhered 3 frames together and added them to the card. I attached some recycled packaging to the fourth frame and added the Hello sentiment that was cut 3 times from black cardstock for dimension.
I added sequins for my shaker and adhered the fourth frame to contain everything. The final panel was added to an A2 heavy-weight white side folding card base.
I decided to keep the second panel quite simple so you can see the beautiful flowers and splatter in all their glory. I simply cut the Congrats sentiment from pink cardstock 3 times (again for dimension) and adhered it to the upper third of my card. The panel was then added to an A2 side folding heavy-weight white cardstock base.
I really had fun making these cards and I hope you enjoyed them too. The springtime weather will hopefully be here before you know it! Thanks for stopping by today. Stay crafty my friends.
