Repeat With Me… A Blog Named Hero July Challenge

Hello everyone! Welcome to the July challenge “Repetition”. I hope you will all join along and stretch those creative muscles. You can find the rules for the challenge here.

There are so many creative uses of repetition that you could use… My card for this month includes repeated stamping and images.

I started with an A2 side fold white card base and used the mail stamp along with “contour ink” to stamp the background. This gave all that white space just a bit more interest. I cut a piece of sand cardstock to about 2 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches. I applied embossing ink to the script stamp from the “Sending Love Mail” set and stamped the sand cardstock for a tone on tone look.

Three butterflies from the “Envelope Accessories Fancy Dies” were cut from white cardstock and colored with Copic markers: YR07, YR16 and YR04 and the 110 Special Black. I added the white dots to make it a Monarch butterfly with a Gelly Roll 08 white pen. The “Sending My Love” sentiment was stamped using Intensified Black Ink onto a small strip.

The sand cardstock was adhered with liquid adhesive onto the middle of the cardbase. I also cut very small (about 1/8th inch) strips of Papaya cardstock to really bring out the orange in the butterflies. I added the butterflies with the same liquid adhesive keeping the top and bottom butterflies only adhered at the body so the wings could be lifted to give dimension. The middle butterfly was fully adhered due to the sentiment being across it. I did also add a few strips of scrap paper under the sentiment for dimension.
