Hi everyone! I’m super excited to show you the My Monthly Hero Kit July 2021! This is the cutest! This kit is filled with magical forrest fairies and gnomes. Who couldn’t use a little magic in their life?!

For my card, I did a little “anti-coloring”. I blacked out images and focused on the background. I hope you enjoy it!
I cut a panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock to 4 by 5 1/4 inches and decided how to arrange my stamps. I then used Intensified black ink and stamped out my images. I used a Black Copic to fill in the flower and stump images. I then masked my images 2 different ways: The stump and flowers were coved in embossing ink using a pen and then heat set with clear embossing powder. The fairies were covered with masking fluid (these images are quite small but it all worked out just fine).
After the masking fluid was dry, I used some washi tape to frame out the area that I was ink blending. The inks I used for the night scene were: Rose Madder, Raspberry Jam, Passion Flower, Grape Juice, and Blue Reactive ink. For a few stars, I sprayed some shimmer mist. I then carefully removed the masking fluid with an eraser.
I used my anti static powder bag for the sentiment and around the fairies so the gold embossing powder wouldn’t stick and heat set. For those tiny little stars and sparkles, I used an embossing pen… which has really come in handy. If you don’t have one, I highly suggest it! After ink blending I found that my fairy images weren’t as bold as I would like. I simply took a small tipped black marker and outlined them.
I added the finished panel to an A2 size side fold card base in Nautical (which matches perfectly with that night sky). To add some dimension, some scrap cardstock was added behind the panel.
