A Blog Named Hero October Challenge

Hello everyone! I am sorry it has been so long since I have made a post. It has been very busy here with the kids going back to school, extracurricular activities and just trying to get back into a schedule. Anyways… onto the next challenge for “A Blog Named Hero” texture.

Texture is defined as “the feel, appearance, or consistency of a surface or substance”. So for this challenge I decided to add quite a few elements.

Starting with a panel of white cardstock, I dry embossed the Autumn Leaves Fancy Dies with a rubber mat and my die cutting machine. This gives a nice raised look. I then ink blended with Raspberry Jam, Lemon Drop and Field Greens. A bit of Root Beer was added around the edges also. Using woodgrain cardstock, I die cut the same leaves and swiped my Root beer ink across them. I really wanted to showcase that awesome texture in the cardstock. I heat embossed a white sentiment onto a small piece of brown cardstock that I cut into a banner shape. For that last finishing touch of texture, I added a cute little ribbon on the banner. The finished card is 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches.

Supply List:

You definitely do not need to use all of these elements in your cards. I just thought I would go all out! There really are so many ways to add texture to your cards: stencils using pastes, specialty cardstocks, embellishments etc. I can’t wait to see all your creations!

Please see my Instagram post to see more inspiration from the design team (everyone is so creative). My post will also instruct you on how to enter our challenges!

Have a great day and don’t forget to stay crafty!
