A Glitzy Card Challenge For A Blog Named Hero

Hi everyone! We have a brand new challenge at A Blog Named Hero this month. The theme is GLITZ. I love this theme because it gives me a chance to use all of my glittery things: cardstock, embossing powders etc. To join our challenges, all you have to do is tag us on social media using @ablognamedhero and #abnhnovemberchallenge. By entering you have a chance to win 1 of 2 Hero Arts gift vouchers to use in the store!

Let’s get to the card!

I cut a panel of Paradise cardstock to 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches (A2). I then blended Reactive inks: Splash, Purple Galaxy, and Blue Hawaii in order from the bottom of the panel up. The panel was then stamped using the Etched Winter Swirls Bold Prints with embossing ink and heat embossed with Sparkle embossing powder.

Using the Trifold Edge Winter Pine Fancy Dies, I cut 2 rows of trees from white glitter cardstock. On the first row of trees, the “Seasons Greetings” sentiment was heat embossed with Platinum embossing powder. I wanted a smoother look so I did emboss this a few times due to the glitter cardstock being a bit bumpy… But I think it worked out well.

I added the tree elements with liquid glue and foam tape for the front row giving it some nice dimension. As a final touch, I used a white gel pen to give a little more emphasis to the “swirling winds”. The finished panel was added to a white side folding card base.
