Simon Says Stamp “Let’s Chill” Release Inspiration

Welcome! I’m so happy that you are joining me. Simon Says Stamp (SSS) has their newest release “Let’s Chill”. It is filled with so many beachy and summertime images. I have to say that all of the beach ones are my favorites…I’m a beach girl! But another awesome product they have is a 3D embossing folder and die set called “Dandy Floral”. Today, I am going to show you 2 fun inspirational cards I made with it. Let’s get to it!

I first started with a panel of alcohol ink cardstock and embossed it using the flower folder. I then used my alcohol inks and blending solution to “paint” the flower. I thought it was a neat look but to be honest…I wasn’t totally happy with it. That is until I cut it down. It definitely made a difference for me. Once my panel was cut down, I used midnight green cardstock to make a matte around the floral image.

The hugs sentiment is one die cut thick on the left and 3 layers on the right to even the layers of the card.

I then cut an A2 panel of white cardstock with the Detail Pin Cushion plate and adhered the it to a white A2 side folding card base. The floral panel was then added to the left side of the card using liquid adhesive. The Scripty Hug’s sentiment was cut multiple times out of black cardstock for dimension and also to even the layers of the card. For just a touch of sparkle, I added some dew drop gems near the sentiment.

For my next card, I used Lindy’s magical powders to create beautiful colored panels and then used the flower die to cut. I THEN matched the die cuts in the embossing folder and ran them through to create dimension. The raised parts of the flowers were highlighted by rubbing a white pigment ink pad over them creating a soft look.

The flowers were adhered to an ivory panel of cardstock and trimmed down. I used a panel of Fog cardstock to make a nice matte highlighting the beautiful and colorful flowers. This was added to an A2 white card base.

For my sentiment, I cut the word “HUGS” 3 times using letter dies and slate cardstock. The secondary sentiment was added from the Encouraging Words Sentiment strips. I didn’t want to add any sparkle or gems to this because I wanted the gorgeous shine from the powders to be front and center.

I hope I have inspired you today with my cards. And I can’t wait to see what everyone makes from this fabulous release!
