Hero Arts My Monthly Hero July 2022 Blog Hop And Giveaway

I’m back again with an absolutely awesome Hero Arts kit for July 2022. This set has a really special place in my heart. I had a friend that passed away from Cancer and her favorite animal was a flamingo. Anytime I see them it always brings a smile to my face because they make me think of her. Now, let’s proceed to the kit and some fun inspiration I have for you!

We’re serving up tropical summer vibes with our July My Monthly Hero release! This month’s kit features a flock of flamingos in HeroScape form. Layer the included inks to easily stamp the gorgeous birds, and create a scene with water below and clouds above. Your recipient will be tickled pink when they receive your card, embellished with the colorful gems or Teal Hero Pearls that round out the kit.
Kit Contents:• 6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp Set
• 7 Coordinating Frame Cuts
• 5 Ink Cubes (Cotton Candy, Peony, Azalea, Arctic, Paradise)
• Self-Adhesive Pink & Teal Gems
• Teal Hero Pearls (0.6 oz)

Kit Value: $75
Kit Cost: $34.99

Just think of how much fun you can have with this kit! So perfect for summery and beachy card giving. I have 2 cards for inspiration for you. One is a bit more elegant and the other is bright and fun.

I started by stamping the layers for the flamingos onto white cardstock. I used Cotton Candy, Rose Madder, Raspberry Jam, and Intense Black ink. I cut them using the coordinating die and set them aside. For some dimension I did die cut some white cardstock to add behind the flamingos.

I used a panel of Paradise cardstock to stamp the clouds using white pigment ink. This was trimmed to 4 by 5 1/2 inches. I gold heat embossed the sentiment onto Pitch black cardstock and added a dragonfly accent. This was adhered using liquid glue to the Paradise panel. I added a small strip of gold paper from a previous kit above the black. The gold almost looks like sand for the flamingos to stand on. I added the flamingos to the background and the panel was added to a white side folding card base.

Supply List:

I really think this card is so much fun! To start, I made my own stencil by cutting a circle out of some thin paper. I made a mask for the flamingos by die cutting some masking paper, adhering it to the panel and masking off the bottom where the water would be. The “stencil” was then added on top and ink blending to make the sun. I removed the circle and ink blended the top of the panel for a fun sunset look. While keeping the flamingo mask in place. I ink blended the water.

I peeled off the flamingo mask, lined up my stamps, and stamped all parts of the flamingos in black ink. You could have stamped the flamingos first and clear heat embossed them before ink blending… but that wouldn’t have given the cool white halo around them. I added the sentiment “you are” in black ink and used Brass embossing powder for the “Flamazing”. The panel was trimmed down to 4 by 5 1/4 inches and adhered to a side folding black card base.

  1. Everytime I see that flock of flamingos it reminds me of a group of ladies at the Senior Center where I used to volunteer. They often stood around at coffee time, in a line as they waited their turn, chattering and catching up…and having a blast.
