Hello my crafty friends! I am with you today for the My Monthly Hero release from Hero Arts. It is a gorgeous floral theme with hints of Autumn. Let’s have a look at the kit!

Kit Contents: | • Clear Stamp Set, 4” x 6” |
• 6 Coordinating Frame Cuts
• Rub-On Transfer Sheet
• Cling Background Stamp, 6“ x 6”
• 2 Sheets Each of Cardstock in Sand & Antique Ivory, 5.5” x 8.5”
• Rose Gold Metallic Floss, 5 yds |
Kit Cost: $34.99
I have 2 cards for you using the main kit and both cards have very different looks. Let’s start with my more “fall” card with traditional colors.

I started with an A2 panel of Palm cardstock, used the background stamp and Field Greens ink for a tone on tone look. The green panel was cut on a slight edge and set aside. I cut a panel of Sand cardstock and temporarily adhered the green cardstock. I did this to ensure that my sentiment would be at the right angle. The green cardstock was removed and the sentiment was stamped in embossing ink and gold heat embossed. Since I didn’t have matching gold cardstock, I embossed a small scrap to apply in between the colored cardstocks. The two panels and gold strip were added together with liquid glue.

The pomegranate, pears, and leaves were stamped using “Contour” ink and colored using Copic markers. I then re-stamped the images with embossing ink and gold heat embossed them. The coordinating dies were used to cut the images out. I then adhered them using liquid glue and a small bit of foam tape along the angle of the stamped cardstock. For a finishing touch, white gel pen highlights were added to the fruits and leaves. The finished panel was adhered to a side folding white A2 card base.

For my next card, I definitely went the non-traditional route. I just wanted to show how you could really use this set beyond the fall season.

I started by stamping the large floral arrangement in black ink onto white cardstock. I colored the flowers in some gorgeous aquas, teals, pinks, and beiges. I then used the die to cut out the colored image along with another white die cut. These were adhered together for dimension. I set aside the image to dry.

For my background, I chose an A2 panel of “Bermuda” cardstock and added embossed lines using my scoring tool. I cut 1/4 inch off each side and gold heat embossed my sentiment in the middle. I then chose another A2 panel of white cardstock and made the same embossed lines. I added the 2 panels together making sure the embossed lines matched. The colored floral image was added in the bottom left corner and any extra was cut off. The remaining cut pieces were adhered to the other corners. A few clear dots were used as a final touch. The finished panel was added to a white card base.

Dear Meg –
I really like both the cards you’ve shared. The color combos are incredible… the moss green with tone-on-tone stamping, the beautifully colored gourds, etc. lined up on the slant separating top/bottom… it’s lovely!!! And the second card was such a surprise, color-wise. It took me half a beat and then I thought , “I LOVE that!!” The way you colored the floral arrangement is so pretty and a real departure from traditional fall. It hit me just right! Thanks for sharing. You always have cool work to check out.
