Hero Arts My Monthly Hero April 2023 Blog Hop And Giveaway

Hello everyone! I am so glad that you could join me today. I have the new My Monthly Hero kit(s) for April. These are always so fun and different…when will they ever run out of ideas? The answer is never (I hope). Let’s take a look at both the kits this month.

Classic Kit: $76 Value for $36.99
• Clear Stamp Set, 6″ x 8″
• 20 Coordinating Dies
• 2 Background Texture Cling Stamps, 2.25″ x 3″ each
• 4 Ink Cubes (Bermuda, Butter Bar, Green Apple, Crimson Core Ink)
• Fancy Script Washi Tape
Our release for April is a fun, eclectic mix of florals and mixed media! Our Classic Kit includes a 6″ x 8″ stamp set full of elements to mix and match for creating flower clusters, vases filled with blooms, and interesting patterns – either in the background or right on the flowers and vases themselves! Two red rubber cling stamps add even more pattern options. There are dies to cut out all of the elements, including the messages. An exclusive washi tape with a handwritten script pattern can be added to your design or on your envelopes, and four Core Ink cubes round out this version of the kit.

An exclusive washi tape with a handwritten script pattern can be added to your design or on your envelopes, and four Core Ink cubes round out the items also available in the Classic version of this kit. The star of this upgraded Premium Kit are the Fancy Dies to cut out vases, greenery, and blooms. The options for die and color combinations are endless! Decorate the vases with the stamps, or use the fun doodle stencil included. The final element is a great set of enamel stickers, which match the fun & funky collage theme of this kit release!

There are so many dies in that premium kit…wow! Think of all the possibilities for both of the kits. I have made a card to represent each of the kits for your viewing pleasure. I hope you like them.

  1. Cut a panel of purple cardstock. Using the background stamp from the kit, stamp in a similar color to your cardstock for a tone on tone look.
  2. Trim the panel to 4 by 5 1/4 inches.
  3. Cut kraft cardstock to 2 1/2 by 5 1/4 inches. Use white pigment ink to stamp around the edge with the patterned stamp.
  4. Stamp in black ink and die cut flowers. Color using your favorite medium and add white highlights.
  5. Add washi tape to white cardstock and die cut vase.
  6. Stamp and die cut your sentiment.
  7. Add all elements to the purple panel with liquid adhesive. Apply finished elements to a strong white card base.

I love how it gives the feel of being multimedia with out being very overbearing. And purple is my favorite color so it was a win-win!

Up next is my card from the premium kit with all those extra dies!

  1. Cut a panel of Granite cardstock to 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches.
  2. Using the fun doodle stencil, add white pigment ink through the dots to simulate clouds (or rain).
  3. Die cut stems from Shamrock cardstock and “tulips” from white cardstock.
  4. Apply Reactive inks onto the tulips. I used rainbow colors.
  5. Adhere flowers and stems to the gray panel.
  6. Cut a strip of gray cardstock .75 inches and 5 1/2 in length. Stamp a sentiment. Adhere near the bottom of the card.
  7. Add little details to the flowers if desired and clear “rain” drops.
  8. Adhere the panel to a card base.

I thought that it would be really fun to do rainbow colors but start backwards. It gives the card a bit of a different look but still bright and cheerful. The dots from the stencil were also a fun little play on clouds.
