Kit Description:Our January release was inspired by a trip to Paris, and the locks left by lovers and dreamers on the bridges there. This month’s kit is great to get started on your Valentine’s Day projects, but can be used to show friendship and appreciation throughout the year. The focal point is a gorgeous cover plate die, with ornate detail surrounding a keyhole. It can be used alone, or layered over any number of beautiful scenes. To get you started, we included a lovely Color Layering stamp set featuring a rope swing covered in inviting greenery. There are ink cubes which work well with the stamps, and the kit is rounded out with some iridescent red gems.

Hero Arts layering stamps are one of the easiest to align in my opinion. And changing the color of the tree makes this set so versatile for the changing seasons. My card inspiration for you today uses a mix of grays and purples.

I did an internet search and found some beautiful purple trees to get my inspiration from. Stamping onto white cardstock, I used Root Beer Reactive ink and Intensified Black for the tree branch. The tree leaves/petals were stamped with Passion Flower and Grape Juice. The swing was stamped in Root Beer Reactive ink. They were cut using the coordinating dies.

I cut a panel of Pebble cardstock to A2 size and arranged my elements on the panel. I did not glue them down. This was just for placement of the stone pathway. I stamped the stones in Soft Granite and I found if you just off set them slightly, they make a nice winding “pathway”. One tree branch and the swing were adhered directly to the panel using liquid glue. The second branch was popped up with a bit of foam tape. I then added the sentiment in Intensified Black ink and the small butterflies in Passion Flower. The finished panel was adhered to a Pebble side folding card base.

  1. My favorite color is purple – your card designs really caught my eye. I’ve seen Wisteria arches like these – and these look so much like them in real life!
