Hero Arts My Monthly Hero October 2022 Blog Hop And Giveaway

Hello all of my crafty friends! Thank you for joining me today as Hero Arts releases the October My Monthly Hero (MMH) kit. This kit is a fabulous way to start your holiday card making. Let’s take a peek at the kit.

Winter has come, direct from the North Pole! The October My Monthly Kit features a darling 6” x 8” stamp set with everything you need to build a magical scene, right down to Santa’s sleigh. The coordinating dies cut out everything in the stamp set, including the messages. There’s a cling background stamp for adding falling snow, and we’ve included two types of white ink to allow you to experiment with different techniques! The kit is rounded out with some gorgeous papers.
Kit Contents:• Clear Stamp Set, 6″ x 8″
• 19 Coordinating Frame Cuts
• Snow Dots Cling Stamp, 4.625″ x 5.875″
• 2 Ink Cubes (White Reactive & Unicorn Pigment)
• 2 Sheets of Diamond Glitter Paper, 5.5″ x 8.5″
• 2 Sheets of Snow Glow Cardstock, 5.5″ x 8.5″
• 2 Sheets of Lapis Cardstock, 5.5″ x 8.5″
Kit Value: $79
Kit Cost: $34.99

What I have really enjoyed doing with these kits is to show you a traditional type of card and also a non-traditional with either colors or design. Today is no different! I hope you enjoy them… Let’s get to ’em.

I started with a panel of white cardstock and masked a large circle for my moon. I then ink blended using Reactive inks in: Pool Party, Splash, Blue Hawaii, and Purple Galaxy. Water was splattered on the panel for a snowy effect. Once the panel was dry, the “Snow Dots” was used with white pigment ink for even more snow. The moon mask was taken off and Perfect Pearls was added for the glow.

I heat embossed the town and Santa using black pigment ink and clear embossing powder. Of course I had to add a bit of magic with the sparkles under Santa’s sleigh with gold heat embossing. The sentiment was gold heat embossed and die cut using the coordinating die. I trimmed the finished panel to 4 by 5 1/4 inches and adhered it to a Navy card base.

My next card would actually be quite easy to mass produce. You could use different colors also. Check it out below.

I used some papers from previous MMH kits but any colors would look lovely. You could also change the embossing color for a different look.

I started with a panel of white cardstock and used the Snow Dots to stamp with Contour ink. This gave it a very subtle background. I cut various colors of pink cardstock (mine had some sparkle) into 1/4 inch strips and adhered them to the middle of the panel. The tree and sentiment were silver heat embossed and die cut using their coordinating dies. Clear enamel dots were added to the tree as a final touch. The finished panel was added to a top folding A2 white card base.

  1. Both cards are lovely. My favorite, tho, is Santa’s flight. That gorgeous moon immediately caught my eye! Thank you for sharing…
