Simon Says Stamp “Cozy Hugs” Release

Hello everyone! Today is the day for the “Cozy Hugs” release from Simon Says Stamp (SSS). There are some fun and amazing products in this release…I can’t wait to shop. If you haven’t seen the full release, you can view it here.

My first inspirational card uses the absolutely gorgeous “Snowy Birdhouse” embossing folder and dies. It was so easy to make this snow scene which is perfect for holiday cards.

  1. Emboss panel of kraft cardstock with the Snowy Birdhouse folder and trim to 4 by 5 1/4 inches.
  2. Color pine branches and pinecones with Copic markers. Use a brayer with white pigment ink or white gel pen to add white to the raised snow and pinecones.
  3. Die cut the birdhouse from red cardstock and emboss using the folder. Color the roof/trim areas with black marker.
  4. Using glitter cardstock, use the die included to cut the snow accents and adhere to coordinating areas.
  5. Adhere the birdhouse to the colored panel with liquid glue.
  6. Die cut the “Rejoice” die from grey cardstock and fun foam (the foam was trimmed in certain areas so the sentiment would lay flat).
  7. Finish by adhering the panel to a top folding red A2 card base and add pearls for “snow”.

My second card uses the adorable “Turkey Day” stamp set. This set comes with a bunch of cute sentiments. I used my favorite!

  1. Using an A2 panel of brown cardstock, adhere 1/4 inch strips of orange and cream cardstocks. Use a cover plate to emboss the background.
  2. Trim panel to 4 by 5 1/4 inches and adhere to a top folding brown card base.
  3. Stamp turkey, pumpkin, leaves and acorn with a stamping tool and Copic safe ink.
  4. Color images and re-stamp using pigment/embossing ink to clear heat emboss.
  5. Die cut or fussy cut images and adhere to the panel with liquid glue and foam squares.

Supply List:

Thank you so much for joining me today. Please let me know in the comments if you like the new format of my step by step process. I took a pole on Instagram and those that answered said they preferred this format. I thought I’d give it a try! Have a great day!
