Hero Arts Spring Catalog Blog Hop And Giveaway

Hello crafty friends. I am so excited to bring you some items from Hero Arts Spring Catalog today! I can’t believe how many awesome products Hero Arts has brought to us.

A few things before we get into the cards. Hero Arts is having a Spring Stamp along April 14-16th 2023. Here is what the Spring Stamp Along includes:

Cost: $45 Early Bird, increasing to $50 on March 15

Join us for two days of card classes at our sixth Stamp-Along event!

During this virtual event, you will have the opportunity to create at least ten beautiful cards from start to finish, learning tips and tricks from some of your favorite cardmakers. The class videos will be live-streamed on YouTube; you will receive the private YouTube links prior to the event. In order to be able to comment, ask questions, and interact with other students on YouTube, you will need an account with Google. There will be an optional Facebook group for community building and some pre-event lives, but having a Facebook account is not required to view the actual classes from our event artists! (This is a change from previous Stamp-Alongs!) You can watch everything live as it happens and β€œstamp-along,” or you can choose to view when it is convenient for you. There will be giveaways throughout the event – everyone who registers will be eligible for the drawings; you need not be present to win.

You can check out additional details and sign up here!

The Stamp-Along image is the perfect introduction to my first card using the “Bee Florals Fancy Window Die” and “Color Layering Bee Floral Stencils”.

  1. Cut the Bee Florals Window from white cardstock.
  2. Using the Color Layering Bee Floral Stencils, ink blend your favorite spring time colors.
  3. Cut multiple additional panels to add dimension behind the colored panel and glue together.
  4. Ink blend a light blue color onto a white panel and stamp the Friendly Messages in black ink.
  5. Center the blue ink blended panel and sentiment into the middle of the floral panel.
  6. Add the panel to a strong card base.
  7. Adhere some flat sequins and apply glitter to the wings of the bee.

I did not want to alter this beautiful panel much. I kept it quite simple so the gorgeous texture and color layering could stand out.

Supply List:

For my next card, I chose a favorite of mine… Lily of the Valley Fancy Die. This flower is special because it is my birth month flower but I also have some sweet memories of picking small bunches at my childhood home.

  1. Die cut the leaves and stem of the Lily of the Valley from green cardstock.
  2. Add shading with a darker green ink.
  3. Die cut flowers from white cardstock and ink blend a very light amount of pink ink.
  4. Adhere all elements of the flower together and set aside to dry.
  5. Cut a panel of kraft cardstock to 4 by 5 1/4 inches.
  6. Blend pink ink through the Stripe Stencil concentrating more color on the outside edge.
  7. Using a light gray ink, stamp the script from the Background texture strips onto the background.
  8. Rough up the edges of the panel for added texture.
  9. Add the flower to the striped panel.
  10. Stamp and die cut the sentiment from the Friendly Messages.
  11. For a final touch, add clear gems.
  12. Adhere the finished panel to a top folding kraft card base.

I absolutely love the look of this card. I added many different elements and textures. Fun Fact: In Victorian times, the Lily of the Valley symbolized a “return to happiness”.

  1. Thank you for including directions and a supply list. I like both of the designs very much and will try roughing up my cardstock edges the way you did on the 2nd card, for a new different look. Those are very nice cards.

  2. Your bee card is so cute, but I have to say my favorite is the sympathy card! I love the look of that card, and sympathy cards (for me) are hard to create.

  3. Beautiful cards! My mom’s fave flower and birth month, too! I love the layering dies and stencils in this catalog (as well as the rest).

  6. Your cards make me ready for spring. I especially like the way you created the background of the lily of the valley card with the stencil, stamp and the edges.

  7. This release is so full of fun! Like, really full! I am crazy about the bees, but there is so much good stuff to play with! And I love the lillies of the valley. We always had a bunch growing at the edge of the woods when we were growing up. I think that card is a real piece of art πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ
