Hero Arts My Monthly Hero February 2023 Blog Hop And Giveaway

As you have probably heard by now, Hero Arts has a new Premium kit as well as their Classic kit… and the Premium kit does not disappoint! The Classic kit is still absolutely fantastic but the Premium gives you a bit more versatility to make more amazing cards. Let’s take a look at both and see how they compare.

Now, lets get into the fun stuff…cards. I have some inspiration today with one card from the Classic contents and one from the Premium contents. I hope you enjoy them!

  1. Using a white panel of cardstock, cut the butterfly wreath out of the corners.
  2. Apply coordinating stencils and ink blend colors in rainbow order. Apply a darker color of the same shade for the detail layers.
  3. Stamp your sentiment in black ink.
  4. Add small pearls for a bit of detail and bling.
  5. Apply foam tape to the back of the white panel and adhere to a black panel.
  6. The final cover panel was added to a strong A2 card base.

I just love how the bold rainbow colors look against the black. And cutting the wreath out of the corners gives the card a really unique look.

And now for the Premium kit. I decided to use the butterfly detail dies included with my Spellbinders Glimmer Machine. I know they are not a “hot foil” but you can absolutely use them like they are! They produce a fine delicate line that is really pretty.

  1. Cut a panel of Paradise cardstock to 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches.
  2. Starting in the bottom right corner, add foil and butterfly detail dies to the background. Foil according to your machines directions.
  3. Apply Blue Hawaii, Blue Raspberry and Pool Party inks for an ombre look. The foil will resist the ink.
  4. Trim the panel about 1/8 inch on each side. Apply to a white card base.
  5. Die cut a white circle, stamp and gold heat emboss the sentiment.
  6. Add a gold matte circle behind the sentiment.
  7. Cut the butterfly wreath die from white cardstock and fussy cut out butterflies big to small.
  8. Adhere sentiment circle in the lower left corner and add white butterflies.
  9. Add a few small gold pearls for a little bling.
