Simon Says Stamp “Peace On Earth” Fall Inspirational Cards

Hi everyone! I have 2 cards for you today using Simon Says Stamp (SSS) “Leafy Leaves” background stamp. Depending on what you put with this background, the cards can be cute or elegant. I have examples of each.

First, lets take a look at my “elegant” card.

I began this card by gold heat embossing the “Leafy Leaves” background onto some smooth white cardstock. I used my Zig markers to color the over lapping leaves in various fall colors (red, orange, yellow, green). I pearl heat embossed a second background on Ivory cardstock. I trimmed the ivory panel to 4 by 5 1/4 inches and then trimmed the color panel to match the same area I chose on the “pearl” panel.

For dimension, I did add a few cardstock scraps behind the colored piece and adhered to the panel with liquid glue. I added this to an A2 green cardbase. Multiple layers of the green were diecut for the “hugs” sentiment. The hugs outline was diecut from Vellum. The “hugs” sentiment and gold leaves were adhered to card with liquid glue.

Now for this adorable card featuring the cutest bear!

I clear heat embossed the “Leafy Leaves” background onto some smooth white cardstock and ink blended Distress Oxide Inks: Peeled Paint, Mustard Seed, Rusty Hinge and Cracking Campfire. I splattered Perfect Pearls in Gold, Copper and Bronze onto the background and set aside to dry. I stamped the bear and flower with black ink and colored with Copic markers. See below for the colors I used:

I did not have the coordinating dies for the bear and flower so I fussy cut the images. I die cut the “miss you” sentiment multiple times from white cardstock for a dimensional look. The dried leaf panel was cut down to 4 by 5 1/4 inches and adhered to an A2 green cardbase. I adhered the bear, flower and sentiment with liquid adhesive (I did put a small bit of foam tape behind the flower).
