Hero Arts My Monthly Hero April 2022 Blog Hop And Giveaway

Hello crafty friends! I am here today to show you this absolutely gorgeous kit Hero Arts has for April. I have no doubt that this kit will be quite popular. If you like it, I would suggest getting it sooner than later because they can (and do) sell out. Without further ado, let’s check out this months kit!

Hero Arts describes this kit as: “Our fun and floral April kit is a celebration of spring as well as the amazing people in all of our lives. It features a gorgeous cling background with bees and flowers. Three layering stencils make the coloring process easy; simply pair them with the inks and blending brush included in the kit, and you’ll quickly have cards in fresh spring colors. Combine the “amazing” word die with the mix and match messages in the stamp set for expressing thanks, celebrating birthdays, sending Mother’s Day greetings and more. We’ve also included dies for highlighting select images from the background, and the kit is rounded out with enamel embellishments which complement the ink colors perfectly.

Kit Contents:
• 3″ x 4″ Clear Stamp Set
• 6″ x 6″ Cling Stamp
• 3 6″ x 6″ Color Layering Stencils

Kit Value: $75
Kit Cost: $34.99

I have 2 inspirational cards for you… I really hope you like them. Let’s get to it!

For this card, I started by die cutting the “Amazing” sentiment 2 times from white cardstock, once from vellum, and adhering all the layers together (the vellum should be on top). This was so I could do a letter press/mirror technique. I marked the center in pencil, inked my vellum die cut with soft granite ink (laying it ink side down), and dry embossed it onto white cardstock using a rubber mat and die cut machine.

Using the large background stamp included in the kit, I inked it up in black then used the coordinating stencils to color the images. These inks included: Pool Party, Blue Raspberry, Key Lime Fizz, Green Apple, and Thistle Reactive Inks. I used the dies to cut the individual flowers and I fussy cut the small group of purple flowers for a pop of color. I love how these dies cut right up to the inked line. I also couldn’t resist cutting out the cute little bee. Pitch black cardstock was used to die cut the “Amazing” sentiment 2 times.

I adhered my flower elements first using liquid glue and then added the “Amazing” die cut right above the shadow letter press. I stamped the secondary sentiment onto a small strip of Paradise cardstock using embossing ink and heat setting with white embossing powder. This strip was popped up with some extra cardstock scraps to give a little dimension. Don’t forget the bee! He was colored with a gold gel pen and adhered to the strip. I trimmed 1/4 of an inch from the top and bottom of the panel so that gorgeous blue would show from the card base.

This next card uses the kit in a more “traditional” manner. I absolutely love the color combo…pinks, kraft and gold.

I stamped the large background onto Sand cardstock with embossing ink, covered in gold embossing powder, and heat set. I colored the images using the matching stencils with Cotton Candy, Rose Matter, Green Hills, Field greens and Grape Juice. The panel was trimmed down to 4 by 5 1/4 inches. I also cut 1/2 inch out of the top 3rd to spotlight the sentiment. The panel was adhered to pink shimmer paper that came in a previous Hero Arts kit. The amazing was cut 2 times from white cardstock and stacked for dimension. The secondary sentiment was gold heat embossed onto a small strip of cardstock. From the scraps of the embossed panel, I cut the bee and an extra flower. All the elements were adhered with liquid glue. A few enamel dots were added for a bit of fun.
