Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit June 2021 Blog Hop and Giveaway

Hello everyone! I am so excited to be a guest designer for the My Monthly Hero Kit June 2021. This kit is filled with adorable images of dogs, cats and of course celebrations! They are sure to put a smile on anyone’s face. Are you ready to paw-ty?!

I decided that a box card would be purrr-fect to bring this image alive with movement. I cut 2 panels of heavy weight white cardstock to 6 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches and scored at 1/2 inch and 1 inch from both sides. I reenforced the score lines with a bone folder to make my box shape. I flattened the front panel and used a circle die to cut out my front window. For a subtle sky background, I made a polka dot stencil using white cardstock and cutting out circular areas and finally ink blending with Soft Sky ink.

I stamped the balloons, cat and dog with Intensified Black ink and colored with copic makers. I then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. To build the scene, the sun was cut from Canary cardstock using a small circle die and adhered to the background. Using the Cloudy Sky Scene dies, I also cut the birds and the clouds.

I adhered the clouds to a small piece of acetate and then to the outer most flap of the bottom panel. The sentiment was stamped on the front panel with Intensified black ink and my cute elements were adhered using liquid adhesive. For a small pop of color, I added a panel of paradise cardstock to the inside of the card. It was cut with a circle die just slightly smaller producing a lovely frame.
