Hi everyone! I have this adorable card made from the Simon Says Stamp (SSS) July card kit called “Bee Yourself”. The images in this kit are just so cute! This is still available (at the time of this post) but you can also purchase items separately. You can check out the kit HERE.
I first made an A2 size top folding card from heavy weight white cardstock. I cut about 1.5 inches off of one end. I die cut 9 dark grey (Recollections brand) cardstock pieces of honey comb. Using the glue sponge from the card kit, I adhered (glue on the backside) 2 honey combs together. I then added glue to the front of one honey comb and sandwiched the end of the card base between them. I cut a panel of SSS Sunshine cardstock with Honey Bee Stamps (HBS) Scallop A2 Card Frames. I only adhered the edge using liquid glue and cut off any excess from the card. I selected the paper from HBS Bee’s Knees Paper and adhered the panel using foam tape for added dimension. You can see all that lovely dimension in the picture below.
Using the same dark grey cardstock, I heat embossed the sentiment with Versamark ink and Hero Arts white embossing powder.
The heart was die cut from a now retired set of Stax heart dies from My Favorite Things. You could use whatever you have on hand or these dies are very similar. I used my MISTI to stamp the cute little bee with Wild Honey Distress Oxide, covered in clear embossing powder and heat set. I added just a bit of detail with black and white Gelly Roll pens. The finishing touches were just a few of the SSS black and yellow sequins.
I couldn’t help but to finish the inside and make a matching envelope with another sentiment and honey comb stamps from the set! The honey comb on both the inside of the card and SSS white envelope, was stamped with Distress Oxide in Wild Honey. The bees were stamped in Hickory Smoke and the sentiment in black detail ink.
This kit really can’t get any cuter and it is perfect for summer!
I hope you all enjoyed my card for today. Stay crafty friends!
